If you are forced to cancel a holiday for the reasons stated in the policy Norwich Union pay for deposits you have paid and cannot recover, any other amounts you legally have had to pay, and unused kennel or cattery fees. Abandonment:
You are covered for a proportion of the cost of travel and accommodation that you have paid before the journey and reasonable extra accommodation and travel expenses to allow you to return home if you have to abandon your trip due to reasons stated in the policy.

Emergency Medical and Associated Expenses This includes the cost of the medical emergency service and dental treatment, as a result of an accident, injury or illness. Norwich Union pay for any reasonable extra charges for accommodation for the rest of your journey if you have to stay after you were going to come back, and also travel costs to get back to the United Kingdom if you are unable to use your return trip. Norwich Union also pay for one other relative or friend to stay with you if your doctor and Norwich Union's medical advisor think it is necessary. £10,000,000 £50

Delayed Departure Cancellation after a 24-hour delay £5,000 - there is a £50 excess payable with this. £25 for each 12 hours you are delayed to a maximum of £250 if the international ship, aircraft or train in which you are booked to travel is delayed, Norwich Union work out the length of the delay from the date and time the ship, aircraft or train should have left. you must check in according to this time and have written confirmation from the carrier or handling agents. £5,000 £50
Missed Departure Norwich Union cover you for the extra accommodation and travel costs you have to pay if you miss the ship, aircraft or train you were booked to travel on for the first international part of your journey for one of the following reasons: - Failure of public transport or delay to a connecting scheduled flight. - The vehicle you are travelling in having an accident or breaking down. £1,000 £0
Legal Expenses and Advice Norwich Union cover you for the reasonable legal costs (up to £25,000) of obtaining damages for your personal injury or death caused by the fault of someone else during the period of insurance. You must tell Norwich Union within 30 days of the event that you are going to make a claim. You must co-operate fully with Norwich Union and give them all the evidence and information they need to assess you claim. £25,000 £100
Hijack & Mugging £50 for the first 24 hours. £1,000 in total.Norwich Union pay if you cannot reach your destination, or you cannot reach the UK on the return leg of your round trip journey as a result of the aircraft on which you are travelling being hijacked. You are also covered if you are in hospital receiving in-patient treatment for bodily injury, caused by a mugging. £1,000 £0
Pet Care £25 for the first 24 hours. £250 in total. Norwich union pay inpatient Vets fees incurred as a result of an injury or accident, which occurs during the period of insurance, whilst your pet is being cared for by a relative, friend or professional carer. You must provide written confirmation from your vet giving details of the injury/accident and the number of days in-patient treatment required. £250 £0
Loss of Passport You are covered for loss or theft of your passport while you are abroad. Norwich Union pay reasonable extra travel, accommodation and communication expenses you have to pay to get a temporary passport, and the cost of the temporary replacement passport. £350 £0
Delayed Baggage If your baggage is temporarily lost on the outward journey and you are without it for more than 12 hours Norwich Union will pay the cost of essential items. To claim under this section, you must keep the receipt of anything you buy, and get written confirmation from the carrier to the number of hours you were without your baggage. If your baggage is permanently lost, the sum insured for baggage will apply. This is subject to a reasonable care condition. £150 £0
